EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT RED LIGHT THERAPY
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
There are a myriad of potential benefits from regular red light exposure, which is why we love it! From boosting collagen and reducing wrinkles to better sleep to chronic pain management, and much more. Read more about specific benefits here:
HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?
We have 10 or 20 minute sessions available. If you have sensitive or reactive skin, we recommend starting with 10 minute sessions and increasing exposure over time.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GO?
Consistency is key to seeing improvements over time. Repeated exposure is where the magic is at! For best results, 3-5 sessions per week, with improvements showing after 3-4 weeks as a general guideline. Daily use can be effective to treat a specific area of the body experiencing concentrated pain, then taper the sessions. Many users can maintain benefits gained with 1-2 sessions weekly.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
You may wear swimwear or undress to your comfort level. For the best results, the light needs direct contact with your skin. We recommend exposing any areas you'd like to treat -- the more the better! RLT is also most effective on bare skin without any SPF, lotions or oils, as they act as barriers.
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
You will be greeted on site by a friendly member of our team and shown to our private studio. The clean and sanitized pod will be prepared by our team, then you will be left to enjoy your session.
You may undress to your comfort level and there will also be eye goggles available for your comfort. Once you're comfortable, you'll lie back in the pod and close it over you. Then let the gentle warmth of red and near-infrared light work -- boosting health, supporting recovery, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall well-being.
Your treatment will be a 10 or 20 minute session, but we allow 30 minutes to ensure you can enjoy your session without being rushed. Once your treatment is complete, the pod will automatically switch off, leaving you feeling refreshed.
DO I NEED EYE PROTECTION?
Red light therapy is generally considered safe for the eyes, and emerging research even suggests it may offer benefits for certain eye conditions such as macular degeneration. However, as there is not yet full scientific consensus on long-term eye safety, we recommend using the complimentary protective goggles provided in the studio.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes! It is a gentle, non-invasive, non-thermal treatment. However, studies on pregnant women and children are limited, so we cannot recommend treatment for people in these groups. It is also not recommended for those with photosensitivity, taking certain medications, and other contraindications.
If you have any concerns, please consult with your medical professional before use.
